Crime Alert: Armed Robbery at Gardner & Waring May Be Linked To Two Others That Same Night

manwcrimealertLAPD Wilshire is investigating — what may be a string of street robberies — that occurred late friday/early saturday morning this past weekend.

A female victim was walking in the area of Gardner/Waring late Friday evening August 12th, when 2 male Black suspects approached her and grabbed her purse. The victim struggled with the suspects to retain her purse and was struck by one of the suspects in the face. The suspects ran to a red hatchback and fled. There were two additional robberies (Clinton/Genesse and 800 block of Orange Grove Ave) that occurred within 15 minutes of the Gardner/Waring robbery. LAPD Wilshire detectives are investigating and need your help.  If you have any information about these crimes or have surveillance video of the streets near or at these sites, please contact LAPD Wilshire detectives at (213) 922-8205.

As a reminder, this is an urban area. When walking any street anywhere  always  keep your valuables (phones etc) out of sight and try not to walk alone if leaving an establishment late. Keep aware of your surrounds at all times.  Please join us for our next neighborhood crime meeting called “Meeting at your corner” on Wednesday, August 24th, 2016 at 7 p.m. at the corner of Rosewood and Stanley.  Hear directly from our local Los Angeles Police Department personnel how to better protect yourself and how not to become a victim.
