Melrose Action Weekly Crime Report 8/3-8/10/2017

Here are the area reported crimes from August 3rd up to August 10th, 2017.  Serious crimes are indicated in bright red. Crimes are listed in order of occurrence with most recent being first. If you have any information about these crimes, please contact LAPD Wilshire Detectives at (213) 922-8205.  On “off” hours you may also call the LAPD at 1-877-275-5273. If you wish to remain anonymous, please contact L.A. Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or at their website at www.lacrimestoppers.org.  If a crime is occurring or you spot a potential suspect wanted in connection to a crime, always call 9-1-1 first.

Our last reporting period included 15.  This reporting period of about 7 days includes 16 with one overlap so the number is relatively the same. Thefts from Cars is the NUMBER ONE problem in our area. 9 of the crimes reported this period are thefts from vehicles. Keep your car doors LOCKED. Keep valuables out of your car or at least out of sight.  Keep in mind these are “reported” crimes. Auto break-in’s are identified as dark red below.

It is CRITICAL if you have been a victim of a crime of ANY KIND to please file a police report to our L.A.P.D. WIlshire Station located at 4861 Venice Blvd just west of La Brea Ave.  Map it here

Our area’s community cop is L.A.P.D. Senior Lead Officer Inga Wecker – you can reach her usually during the week at (213) 793-0708 or email her here.
